What is Microsuction EarWax Removal?
Ear microsuction is a technique used to remove ear wax or debris. We use a High-definition digital otoscopy device which allows us to see inside your ear canal in great detail, before using a fine sterile suction device to remove wax from the ear. This suction process is similar with using a small-scale vacuum cleaner for ear wax removal.
Earwax removal is painless and, when the wax is soft enough, it can actually be “quite relaxing” as one of our clients described it.
Do You Need To Use Ear Drops Before Microsuction?
Using ear drops before your appointment may help with softening your ear wax and prepare your ears for a faster and more comfortable microsuction procedure. However, this isn’t always necessary.
Ear Microsuction vs Ear Syringing- Which Is Safer?
You might know or heard of ear syringing and ear irrigation which were the traditional methods for ear wax removal for many years. And both ear syringing and ear irrigation involve injecting water with pressure into your ear. However, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) no longer recommends this technique due to being potentially harmful. So, at Ear Prime Care, we, too, believe that ear microsuction is far superior than both ear syringing and ear irrigation. Hence, we only use the latest micro-suction technology. However, If your earwax is stubborn, we’ll do our best to offer same day earwax removal in Bristol.
