One day, while working in a care home, I was talking with another nurse (and dear friend) about one of our elderly residents who was struggling to hear due to having his ears blocked with earwax. Because nobody from the GP practice was willing to help with ear cleaning, we started a quest to find out why.
At that time, I must admit, we felt helpless realizing that ear cleaning was no longer covered by NHS.
Next, I heard my friend saying: “Why don’t we train to do it?” And we did!
However, you might still find me in the care homes around Bristol, taking care of elderly people.
